Beginning My Journey With Clear Quartz

When I entered my 40s, I had no idea I was entering into a world of aches and pains and emotional stress.  As each day became a struggle for me, my husband and I began researching alternative healing methods.

"What about crystal healing?" he said.

I chuckled, "Yeah right. You really think a crystal is going to save me?"

"It really works. It's all about energy and..."

Blah, blah, blah... How is a crystal going to save me?

Despite my skepticism, my curiosity was piqued, and I found myself in a metaphysical shop heading straight to a display of pocket crystals.  If anything, I was drawn to their colorful beauty.  Each one of them was shining with their own uniqueness.  I started grabbing various crystals, filling both hands with as much as I could carry.  As I approached the checkout, I thought to myself, Do I really want to spend money on something that probably won't work?  I bypassed the checkout and continued walking through the store, debating in my head whether I should buy them or not.  I want them to work. But really, how are crystals going to save me?  The woman behind the counter looked at me so intently with her clear blue eyes, it felt like she was reading my mind.  I smiled at her as I walked over to the counter and handed her the crystals.

She said, "Wow, they're warm. That means they're already starting to work for you."

They're warm because they've been in my hands for the last 15 minutes, but whatever.

I made my way home to place my crystals in a decorative box, only to remain untouched.  But after weeks of complaining and endless days of feeling crappy, I decided to finally embark on a journey of crystal healing.  I chose to begin my quest with Clear Quartz as it's known to be the "master healer."  It's said to amplify positive energy and calm both the mind and body.

First, I cleansed my crystal in running water.  As the cool water glided over the crystal and my fingers, I chanted in my head, I release you of negativity.  I envisioned negative energy flowing from the crystal and from myself, trickling down the drain with the water.  After wiping it with a soft cloth, I went to a quiet room to sit comfortably with the Clear Quartz.  I focused on its coolness and smoothness in the palm of my hand and curled my fingers over it.  I closed my eyes and imagined a bright white light radiating from the crystal, traveling up my arm and through my body, until I envisioned my entire body filled with the white light.  I held the vision for a few minutes.  To my surprise, I suddenly felt a warm sensation flowing through my body.  Could it really be working?  I smiled and placed the Clear Quartz in my pocket to carry its energy throughout the day.  As I placed it in my pocket, I said, "This crystal is going to save me."

  1. Hi Parise!

I love your story! You did a wonderful job, especially with your inner dialogue. I burst out laughing when you said "They're warm because they've been in my hands for the last fifteen minutes, but whatever". I always love reading your stories as you are a remarkable writer.

Your narrative was really well written, I could feel the tension getting bigger as the story went on because I was excited to see if they were going to work for you or not.

I am really glad that your first crystal worked so well for you and I hope they continue to do so!
